VIF Baptism, 2/4/2012-Kawika Kiesling

Praise the Lord!!  My sister’s boyfriend, Kawika Kiesling, got baptized yesterday!!  He had approached my Dad (Pastor of Valley Isle Fellowship), during this past week.  God had been convicting him that it was something he had to do.  So joyfully, about 50 of his friends and family, joined Kawika for a morning baptism out at Lauiupoko Beach.  What a blessing and testament it was!!  God is Sovereign!!  Here are some pictures from the day!

I met up with my Dad at the church, and was marveled at the beauty of the West Maui Mountains!!  God has truly blessed us!!  The sun was just starting to shine on the mountains!

Even the whales were rejoicing for Kawika!

A time of prayer.

Hallelujah!!  Praise the Lord!! 😀

Kawika getting a congratulatory hug from his Dad!!

Kawika sharing his testimony of why it was such an important decision for him. You go Kawika!!  What a testimony! God has GREAT and MIGHTY things in store for you!!

Kawika with my sister Keri! 😀

California Vacation!

In September, we were blessed with the opportunity to go to California for the Truth Matters Conference, hosted by Grace to You, and Grace Community Church.  We then were able to visit with some of my friends from college!!

The cheapest tickets that we could find, were into San Jose.  So we spent the night in San Jose, then headed out early the next morning!  It was over a 5 hour drive, but it was interesting to see the different changes in scenery!  We made it to the LA area in time for a Grace to You tour!

Here is the studio that John MacArthur does his recordings in, and his office (where there are some sermon notes).

Here is a picture of Dave with Phil Johnson!

Grace Community Church!

Saturday’s conference, was only half a day, giving us an opportunity to play tourist!  We met some friends at a shopping mall, and I couldn’t resist taking a picture of the California sky line!  So different from Maui!

They had a train!

There was also a fountain, that put on a show, coordinated to music!

The lights on top of the elevator tower were amazing at night!

Much Mahalos to Grace To You and Grace Community Church!  We can’t thank you enough for serving us the way that you did!!

We then had an opportunity to visit with the Leaman family in Bakersfield!!  We celebrated their son David’s birthday, on our first night there!

Edited to add:  This was also the night that I was introduced to Miche Bag!!  Julie’s Sister-In-Law, Shawnra Ancheta, is a Rep for Miche Bag.  LOVE it!!  I am now a Rep myself!! 😀  Check out my site!!

Our last night there, they took us to Dewar’s, which they told us was a must! 🙂

We then made our way to Visalia to visit with the Robb Family!  While up in Visalia, we made the short trip to Fresno, to see my Alma Mater, Fresno Pacific University.  Boy have things changed in the last 10+ years!!

We spent time at Brooklyn’s first ever soccer practice!

And also hung out with the family!

We borrowed Betsy’s, Dad’s kayak, and went up to Hume Lake!  My first time up there, after hearing so much about it!

We had the pleasure of attending Brooklyn’s first soccer game, and I caught a picture of her kicking the ball!  Go Brooklyn!!

The Hubby HATED me taking his picture, and made it known!

Much Mahalos to the Leaman’s (Brent, Julie, Hannah, David and Liliana) and the Robb’s (Brad, Betsy, Brooklyn and Bailey) for an AMAZING vacation!!  God has truly blessed us with AMAZING friends!!  Dave mentioned to me that this was the best vacation ever, from the conference, catching up with some of his friends, to time spent with you!!  Here’s the last picture that I took!  Bailey!

12.11.2011-Valley Isle Fellowship Installation of Senior Pastor, Stephen Kaneshiro

WOW!!!!  I can’t believe that it has been about 5.5 months since I last blogged!!  OUCH!!  I better get caught up, and get back to blogging!!

Since I told my brother that I’d share some pictures with him of yesterday, I decided to clean out the dust and blog it!!

Valley Isle Fellowship  (VIF) installed my Dad, Stephen Kaneshiro, as their Senior Pastor yesterday, Sunday, December 11, 2011.  Most of my immediate family are in the process of moving back!  It’s weird, that after a little over 7 years, I’ll have almost all of my immediate family back on Maui!  My parents moved to the Big Island back in August of 2004.  Both my brother and sister eventually followed them.

VIF has been without a Senior pastor for about 2.5 years.  This past summer, my Dad temporarily moved over to serve as their Interim Pastor.  VIF then called my Dad as their Senior Pastor in October, and my Dad moved over in November.  Unfortunately, my Mom is still living on the Big Island since she has to finish out her teaching contract for the rest of the school year.

A few people from my Dad’s previous church on the Big Island, In Christ Alone House Church Ministries, flew over for the installation service.  Here are a few of them.

The only cousin that my Mom has on Maui, Dean, came to the service!  Thanks for coming Dean!!  I got to meet him for the first time at Thanksgiving!  He is my Grandma’s nephew.  Here is a picture of them reconnecting after many years!!

The school cafeteria where they hold their services, is all decorated for CHRISTMAS!!

Pastor Darren Sarmiento started the service out with a welcome, followed by Praise and Worship.

Ken served as the announcer/emcee.

Then an expression of thanks was given to the members of In Christ Alone House Church Ministries.

My Uncle Paul (my Dad’s brother), who happens to be the pastor of Pukalani Baptist Church, then gave a Charge to VIF.

My good friend Malia, shared a special Interpretive Sign Dance to “My Redeemer.”

Bob, the Moderator of my Dad’s former church (In Christ Alone House Church Ministries), gave a Charge to my Dad.

Special Prayers of Dedication for the Church, my Dad, and my Mom then followed.

Wes (Moderator of the MCBA) shared Congratulations from the MCBA.

My Dad shared some closing remarks and thanks.

The worship team closed by sharing “Christmas Offering.”

After a closing prayer by Flo, it was time to fellowship and eat!  Two things that VIF does really well!! 🙂  The stormy weather outside didn’t dampen the day at all!

So, at 59 years of age, a new chapter, and new adventures have started for my Dad!  God is not done using my Dad!  I know that he will deeply miss his In Christ Alone family.  We, the Kaneshiro Family, would like to thank them all, for taking the time and sacrificing, to make the journey over to Maui!

Happy Anniversary!

Happy 2nd Anniversary, Dear!!  I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!  Every time I think about you and I, I am always amazed at how God works!!  God knew that you were the perfect mate for me, and I thank Him for blessing me with you!!

I am SO BLESSED to have a man that desires to be ALL that God wants him to be.  Blessed to have a man that desires to always be in the center of God’s will.  Blessed to have a man that seeks daily to know more and more about God.  Blessed to have a man that has a rich love for and desire to study His Word.  Blessed to have a man that desires to lead our family in every way that God meant for a man to be the head of the household.

I am SO BLESSED to have a man that loves me just the way that I am.  Blessed to have a man that loves how I love to take care of him!  🙂  Blessed to have a man that prays for me.  Blessed to have a man that supports me.  So blessed to have a man that I know there will never be a dull moment!

Happy Monday everyone!!  I hope that you all have a BLESSED week!!

Kerbear!!! My AMAZING Sis!!! :D

Kerbear!  That’s what I call my younger sister, Keri! 🙂  She came to visit the other week (actually, she really came to help out with you camp in Keanae, to be a counselor).  She came in a couple of days early, and I got to hang out with her the day she arrived (a Saturday).  I know how much she’s been eyeing up my camera, so I let her play with it some.  🙂  Ain’t I a nice big sister?!  😀  Since she left the pictures on my camera, thought I’d share them with you (SOC-straight out of camera)!

Lovely plumeria trees!

Don’t know why, but I love this picture!  For some reason, I like this view point, & have also taken some pictures like this!  Guess we really are related! 😀

I think this is one that she said was one of her favorites! 🙂  LOVE the color of the flowers!

Iao Valley

The other weekend, I had the pleasure of joining a friend on a nature shoot, of a popular place to both locals and tourists: Iao Valley.  We decided to take advantage of the gorgeous early morning light, and met at the lower park, also known as Kepaniwai.

As I strived to see Iao Valley with new eyes, I was reminded of how much I LOVE God’s artistry!!  What an AMAZING artist He is!!  All Creation was singing His Glory!!  Here are a few of my favorites! 🙂

Hallelujah!!

Hallelujah!!  All GLORY to God!!!!  Issues have finally been all resolved, well, for now, with NordicTrack & iFit Live!!  I can FINALLY make complete, and good use of our incline trainer that we bought back on March 31st!!!  Just had to say that!!

Don’t get me wrong, I still want to warn people about buying from NordicTrack.  We will NEVER buy a piece of equipment from them again!!!  They don’t care about the customer until they start to look bad (THANK YOU Social Media!!!).  I also can’t believe that iFit Live would tell me to contact customer care to put downtime on my account (since we couldn’t use it; you get the 1st year free then have to pay after that), and not put their phone numbers, ANYWHERE!!!  Anybody got a cool route for us to check out??!!  I can map it out then actually RUN it, since iFit Live is connected to Google Maps!! 😀
